Campus Security Report Danville Campus
Lakeview College of Nursing provides for the safety and security of students, faculty and staff through the services at Lakeview College of Nursing and the Danville Police Department. Services include but are not limited to:
- patrolling campus buildings, grounds, and parking lots
- checking campus streets, sidewalks and grounds for hazardous conditions
- periodic checking of fire extinguishers located on the campus
- performing safety/security checks of campus buildings including doors, locks, corridors and stairways
- controlling traffic, providing direction and assistance to motorists and others as needed
- reporting all crimes, accidents and injuries to persons or damage to property to the appropriate authorities
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to promptly report suspicious and/or criminal actions and emergencies to the Danville Police Department by calling "911" or by calling the Associate CEO at 217-477-2747.
In the event that a criminal offense occurs on campus that represents a threat to students and employees, the CEO, Associate CEO and/or Dean of Nursing will make timely reports to the College community describing the nature of the offense and precautionary measures to be taken.
The Danville Police Department and other law enforcement agencies provide law enforcement services on the College campus.
In compliance with the Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act of 1990, the College provides information to students and employees regarding security practices and procedures through programs and various publications such as student and employee orientation programs, student and faculty handbooks and individual fliers. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to be aware of crime prevention measures, and to be responsible for their own security and the security of others.
The following statistics on campus crime are also provided to meet requirements of the 1990 Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act:

In addition, Lakeview College of Nursing is committed to providing a safe and secure campus through maintenance of a drug free environment. In compliance with the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Amendments of 1989, the college disseminates information to all students and employees regarding the dangers of substance abuse through the publication "A Student Guide: Campus Regulations, Information and Resources About Drugs and Alcohol Use and Abuse." The Student Guide details campus regulations regarding use/abuse of these substances and disciplinary actions for violations. Substance Abuse education is also incorporated into several required and elective courses in the College curriculum.
This report, including statistical information, about campus crime will be provided to all current students and employees on an annual basis. The report will also be made available to potential students and applicants for employment upon request.
