“Today’s Family” to feature Lakeview College of Nursing

Deerfield Beach, FL – The producers of Today’s Family, an innovative, educational series, are pleased to announce that they will feature Lakeview College of Nursing in a segment on “Careers that are Rewarding.”

The segment was filmed on location in Danville on Monday, January 14.  The production will take viewers on a tour of the campus, and feature interviews with students and Lakeview spokespersons.  Once the segment is complete it will air on Oxygen TV and PAX TV in many of the top markets nationwide.

Making a difference between life and death, comfort and pain, knowledge and fear, and freedom and dependence, a career in nursing can greatly impact the lives of others.  For men and women seeking quality education and a rewarding career in nursing, Lakeview College of Nursing has become the college of choice for professional nursing in Illinois, and is nationally recognized for its commitment to public wellbeing through nursing excellence.

“Lakeview College of Nursing has a central focus to be a dynamic center of educational excellence, where the entire college community works together with integrity, and cares for others,” says Dean of Nursing Sara Rich Wheeler.  “The College is at the forefront of the trends in health care, and is committed to improving nursing as a profession by preparing competent, caring, professional nurses for leadership roles in the health care community.”

Offering a tradition of excellence since 1894, the College features a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Program.  Located in Danville, Illinois and at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Lakeview is a 2-year institution for college juniors and seniors.

Starting with only four students as the Danville Training School in the late 1800s, the institution has a reputation for adapting to the needs of its students.  In doing so, it has transformed throughout the years.  The College evolved from a hospital-based diploma program to a BSN program, brought baccalaureate nursing education to the Charleston, IL area, and updated its curriculum based on sound theoretical frameworks, scientific knowledge, and evidence based research.

Its diverse student body has grown tremendously in recent years, as the demand for nurses continues to grow.  From its qualified, caring, dedicated faculty, and its personalized attention given to each and every student, to its traditional and accelerated programs, Lakeview College of Nursing strives to provide students with the best educational experience possible.
