Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)

The TEAS™ is a tool that Lakeview College of Nursing uses as part of their admissions process.  Once an application for admission is submitted applicants will receive scheduled test dates on the EIU and Danville Campuses.  Applicants may choose to take this proctored assessment through either previously-mentioned location or through another college or university that makes the TEAS™ available.

The TEAS™ was developed to measure basic essential skills in the academic content area domains of Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and Language Usage. These entry level skills were deemed important for nursing program applicants by a panel of nursing program curriculum experts.

The TEAS™ is a 170-item, four-option, multiple-choice assessment. To prepare in an organized and efficient manner, you should know what to expect from the real assessment.

The TEAS™ Online Practice Assessment is available for students desiring additional test preparation material.

  • The online practice assessment includes 100 items designed to be reflective of the TEAS™ in both content and format.

  • In order to maximize the learning experience, each item is accompanied by detailed rationales for all correct and incorrect responses chosen.

  • The TEAS™ Online Practice Assessment costs $25.
