Suggested BSN Completion Track for Licensed RNs

This track is designed for Registered Nurse graduates of associate degree or diploma programs who want to complete their bachelor’s degree.  Upon completion of Lakeview’s RN-BSN Track graduates find that doors open to leadership positions, there is increased earning potential and an opportunity to practice in a wider range of settings. 

Lakeview College of Nursing offers a very flexible, individualized program which can be completed in a time frame anywhere between 16 months and 6 years, depending on the student's needs. RN Credit is granted for nursing skills already learned through school or work experience.  Coursework is available on site in Danville or Charleston.  Some coursework is also available on-line.  Clinicals may be completed through a current employer or arranged at another convenient location.  RNs with licensure outside of IL may be required to obtain IL licensure.  

For RNs there are three simple steps to completing the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree.

1.  Complete AAS Degree or Diploma in Nursing.

2.  Complete the coursework required for RNs.

3.  Complete the following courses at Lakeview College of Nursing:

(E) RNs may be exempt from this course if they have completed a 3 credit hour (2 credit hour lecture plus 1 credit hour clinical) gerontology nursing course as part of their previous study.  If an RN has completed a 2 hour gerontology course they will need to submit a syllabus to the Director of Enrollment for evaluation.  The Faculty Organization will make the final determiniation of whether courses meet LCN criteria.  In cases where there is a question, the Dean of the College of Nursing will be consulted.
