Category III---Pre-Admission Test
The HESI assessment (A2) exam will be required for all NEW applicants beginning with the Spring 2010 semester. Admission priority will be given to those applicants who take the HESI A2.
The HESI A2 exam is offered at Lakeview College of Nursing Danville and Charleston campus but can be taken at any location it is available (there are over 300 sites within the U.S. that offer it). If the exam is taken at Lakeview College of Nursing the exam cost is included in the application for admission fee. However, please be advised that if the HESI A2 exam is taken at another location there may be a fee charged to you by the alternative site.
If you are admitted with restrictions under early decision without submitting scores for HESI please be aware that you are still required to complete this requirement. If you score 0-4 points for the pre-admission test, you may NOT be eligible for full admission. If you qualify for early admissions, it is to your advantage to complete the HESI A2 test by the earliest test date. For specific information regarding HESI scores please see below and for further test information see Pre-Admission Assessment Testing HESI A2 Components.
[Applicants can take test once within a 12 month period]

Selection Process
Please keep in mind that there is no magic number of points that provides admission into Lakeview College of Nursing. The requirement of points is ever-changing with the applicant pool each semester. The Lakeview College of Nursing Admissions Committee reviews all applicants after each application deadline. When the application is initially received and an official transcript evaluation is complete, a confirmation of the receipt of the application will be sent. Admission decisions are primarily based upon measurable items within this criteria point system and completion of courses required for admission. The LCN Admissions Committee will meet to review candidates for admission approximately 2 weeks following each application deadline and notification of admission decisions will occur approximately 6 weeks following each application deadline.
