Application Process for Non-Degree Seeking Students

Students who do not wish to pursue the BSN degree at Lakeview College of Nursing  or who do not qualify for admission into the BSN program may apply as non-degree seeking students. Such students will be eligible to take 12 credit hours of non-clinical coursework for which they have met the prerequisites. Those wishing to take more than 12 credit hours or any clinical courses must have the permission of the Dean of Nursing.

A one-page application (along with signature and date) must be completed and submitted to the Director of Enrollment/Registrar. Transcripts for all previous college coursework must be submitted for enrollment in any course. Those taking clinical courses must also submit immunization records and proof of CPR certification. The application fee is not required.

Enrollment will be on a space-available basis. Tuition and fees will be assessed at the rate in effect at the time of registration. Non-degree seeking students are responsible and accountable for becoming familiar with and adhering to the policies stated and the procedures described in the Catalog and Student Handbook. Students enrolled as non-degree seeking will not be eligible for financial aid.

Students admitted under this category who desire to pursue the BSN degree at a later date must go through the prescribed admission procedure and meet admission requirements at the time the student seeks full admission. Credit earned as a non-degree seeking student may apply to the BSN degree. Such credit will be evaluated by the Director of Enrollment/Registrar prior to granting degree-seeking status.
