Course Withdrawal

To withdraw from a course, students must meet with their Advisor or Course Coordinator to complete an ADD/DROP/WITHDRAW form prior to the deadline for course withdrawal. Students are advised to consult with the Financial Aid Office regarding the effect on financial aid status before withdrawing from a course. Students who withdraw from a course need to be aware they may be placed on a wait list for repeating the needed course.  The withdrawal procedures are as follows:


Eight Week Classes:
First class day through the end of the 5th week of an eight week course a grade of “W” (withdrawal) will be recorded on the transcript.

Eleven Week Classes (Summer Only):
First class day through the end of the 6th week of a ten week course a grade of“W” (withdrawal) will be recorded on the transcript.

Fourteen, Fifteen, Sixteen Week Classes:
First class day through the end of the 12th week of the course a grade “W” (withdrawal) will be recorded on the transcript.

Short Session/ Weekend Courses:
Deadline to withdraw from any short session weekend class is prior to the 3rd class meeting.

 

Students may only repeat a course one time in which they received a grade of “W” or failing grade.  Any student who has withdrawn from two courses will be placed on academic probation. Students withdrawing from three different courses will be dismissed from the College.


A student may not withdraw from more than 2 different courses while pursuing the BSN degree unless the student is requesting a LEAVE of ABSENCE and has approval by the Dean. The student may not withdraw from a course if there is a Student Code of Conduct issue or a Grievance is pending or being investigated.
