Readmission After Dismissal

Before being readmitted to the college, dismissed students must remain out of the college for at least one semester (summer semesters is included). Students who have been dismissed from the college, either for academic or non-academic reasons may be readmitted to the college NO MORE THAN ONCE.  It will be at the discretion of the Dean of Nursing to allow students who have been refused re-admission to request the faculty for reconsideration.

  1. Complete all ATI assessments as of the semester of dismissal and provide demonstrated proof of completing all remediation by the end of the semester following dismissal.
  2. Re-apply to the College and write a letter of petition to the Faculty Organization stating how they have changed the circumstances surrounding the dismissal in order to be successful in the nursing program.
  3. Some students may be asked to appear before the Faculty Organization for interview prior to decision making.

The Director of Enrollment/Registrar will present the case to the Admission Committee first and then to the faculty Organization for a determination of readmission status. The student will be considered for readmission and course credit will be evaluated for acceptance under the policies and procedures that exist at the time of reapplying except for the policy on course failures.   Re-admitted students will be allowed only one withdrawal from a course.  All nursing courses must passed with a "C" or above to remain in the College.  Students whose clinical nursing course work was done more than 3 years prior to the time of their request for readmission may be required to retake clinical nursing courses.  If students are readmitted, the College may recommend or require the student to take previously failed courses at the alternative campus.  Students should be aware that criteria for readmission is based on GPA, past performance at the College, and adherence to College policies and procedures.
