I'd like to welcome you to Lakeview College of Nursing. The College has a proud tradition of preparing nurses for professional practice for over 100 years. Our faculty is highly educated and skilled in helping you to reach your goal in becoming a baccalaureate prepared nurse. A message from the Dean
Welcome to Lakeview College of Nursing. You have chosen a career path which will enable you to feel you have made a difference in your own life, as well as someone else's. As you begin your education and evolution into a professional nurse in the 21st century, you will be a part of the College's commitment to caring, learning, service, and research.
Throughout your time at Lakeview, you will learn about the College's commitment to our values of: Adaptability, Caring, Excellence, Integrity, and Service. We take pride in creating a nurturing, caring environment for our students to adapt, learn, grow, and flourish in the evolving role of the professional nurse. This type of environment can enable you, the student, to make the transition from learning to pass a test to acquiring skills and knowledge which enable you to critically think about how best to care for your clients, their families, and the community at large.
All of the nursing courses here at Lakeview are based on sound theoretical frameworks, scientific knowledge, and evidence-based research. The focus of the nursing courses is on wellness and caring for: the well being of the individual through the promotion of health, prevention of illness or disease, and the maintenance of health for people, families, communities, and ultimately society. You will have many opportunities to offer service to others as you learn about the role of the professional nurse.
The ultimate outcome of your experience here at Lakeview is to enter the workforce as an excellent professional nurse dedicated to quality care in a variety of traditional and non-traditional health care settings and committed to life-long education. We believe as we mold and shape your future as a professional nurse we are also changing the economic, environmental, social, and political future of health in our community, state, and nation.
