Lakeview College of Nursing is a single purpose college that has focused on excellence in nursing education since 1894. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program is offered in Danville as well as on the campus of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL.

 

Students

Lakeview College of Nursing has a current enrollment of 235 students:  132 registered at the Danville Campus and 103 at the EIU Campus.  Approximately 9% of our students are male, 85% are female and about 6% did not report their sex for reporting purposes.  We have a very diverse student body with 34.4% considering themselves an ethnic minority:  13.6% Black, 9.7% Asian, 1.7% Hispanic, and 9.4% of an unnamed ethnicity. 

 

Facilities

The Lakeview College of Nursing in Danville offers all amenities under one roof: classrooms equipped with the latest technology, a fully-stocked nursing arts laboratory, a modern chemistry laboratory, a learning resource center, a state-of-the art computer lab, several faculty/staff offices, quiet study areas, a student lounge, and a conference room. The facilities create a caring, comfortable atmosphere which is conducive the development of students and faculty.

The Lakeview College of Nursing at Eastern Illinois University may utilize any of the public buildings on campus. Courses may be scheduled within the LCN auxiliary classroom at 580 W. Lincoln Ave. in Charleston, IL, or within the EIU Campus buildings.  (For more information about the buildings on the EIU campus, please visit www.eiu.edu.) Additionally, Lakeview students on campus at EIU utilize two separate nursing arts labs: one within the Health Services Building and another located within blocks of Eastern Illinois University located at 580 W. Lincoln Ave. Students also have access to the Booth Library, the Student Recreation Center, the Student Union, and computer labs.
