Dean of Nursing
Lakeview College of Nursing is a single purpose, private, not-for-profit institution located in Danville, IL with an additional campus in Charleston, IL seeking applications for a Dean of Nursing. Lakeview provides instruction for junior and senior level students seeking a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. The College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
A master’s degree in nursing is required. An earned doctorate (PhD, DNS, DNP, or doctorate near completion) in nursing or related field is highly preferred, eligibility for an Illinois Registered Nursing license, and a distinguished record of academic leadership, scholarship, service, and accomplishment in teaching at the baccalaureate nursing level.
The ideal candidate has strong leadership and administrative skills; excellent communication skills; is experienced in curriculum development; demonstrated the ability to develop a collaborative and effective environment with College stakeholders; strong assessment of student learning outcomes, accreditation, personnel, and faculty development; fiscal management; and service to the community.

Under the supervision of the Dean of Nursing, Nursing faculty deliver class and/or clinical instructions according to an approved course syllabus using accepted and effective teaching methods; advises and tutors students; maintains current and accurate attendance and grade records; remains current in the nursing field; participates in faculty meetings, instructional seminars and in-service training sessions. Participates in school activities such as faculty meetings, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, and/or new student orientations.
Flexibility in work schedule is necessary. Interest in serving a diverse student population is essential.
Master’s in Nursing plus nursing practice required. BSN teaching experience preferred.
Eligibility for Illinois nursing license required.
